Ruth E. Pokego, 76 of Tunkhannock passed away on Saturday May 7, 2022 at The Gardens of Tunkhannock. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Pokego. Born in Fairmont, West Virginia on May 8, 1945 she is the daughter of the late Edison and Hazel Smith Dickey. Ruth was a loving and caring mother who devoted her life to her children. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and spending time with her family. She is a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Moose Lodge, Tops, and Tunkhannock library. She also served as a caretaker for her daughter, Theresa. In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Theresa Pokego and Deborah Kotula and husband Tony of Florida; grandson, Edward J. Kotula, She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Dickey. Family and friends are invited to attend Ruth’s celebration of life service which will be held on Friday May 13, 2022 at 12:30 PM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga Street Tunkhannock, PA 18657. A visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
