Mary Ellen S. Carpenetti, 71, of Factoryville passed away on Friday April 22, 2022 at Allied Hospice, Scranton. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles J. Carpenetti. Born in Tunkhannock on October 1, 1950 she is the daughter of the late Frank, Sr. and Rose Thomas Strumski. Mary Ellen was a 1968 graduate of Tunkhannock School District. Throughout the years Mary Ellen had worked many different jobs. Perhaps what she was most known for was her time at the Lackawanna Trail High School Cafeteria, where she made a lot of students and teachers smile with her humorous personality. Mary Ellen enjoyed taking trips to antique shops and traveling to Virginia to visit her son Adam's family, especially the grandchildren. She also loved going to see her son John play music with various groups and destinations. She is a member of the Our Lady of the Abington’s Parish. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, John of Factoryville and Adam and wife Tiffany of Virginia; brothers, Frank Strumski, Jr.; granddaughters, Josephine and Amelia. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Strumski and sister, Joann Ellsworth. Family and friends are invited to attend Mary Ellen’s Mass of Christian Burial on Friday April 29, 2022 which will begin at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of the Abington’s Church 207 Seminary Road off of 700 West Main St. Dalton, PA 18414, to be celebrated by Rev. Arbogaste Satoun. The family request that those attending go directly to the church on Friday morning. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
