George F. Mason, Jr.

George F. Mason Jr. (Butch), 71, of Falls passed away on Monday April 18, 2022 after a brief courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna M. Panek. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late George Sr. and Mary Ryder Mason. George was a 1970 graduate of Abington Heights High School and was employed as a technician at Procter & Gamble for 27 years. He enjoyed antique car shows and watching NASCAR races. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and loved to share memories that he made while exploring the world with his wife. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Michael Mason; daughters, Marissa Mason and partner Rob, and Kathleen Mason; sister, Patricia Rosencrance and husband Thomas; mother-in-law, Romaine Panek; grandchildren, Tanner and Owen Mason; several nieces and a nephew. Family and friends are invited to attend George’s Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Friday April 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM from the Church of the Holy Redeemer, 2435 State Route 92 Falls, PA 18615 to be celebrated by Msgr. John Sempa. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming. A viewing will be held on Friday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association, 1133 Wyoming Ave Forty Fort, PA 18704.
