Jeanette I. Corby, 86, of Monroe Township, passed away peacefully at her home in her favorite chair on March 25, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Floyd L. Corby, Jr. in 1998. Born in Noxen on July 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ruth Thompson Dymond. Her family moved to the Bowman’s Creek area when she was 4 years old. She was a 1953 graduate of the Beaumont high school. She married her husband Floyd Corby, Jr. They later built a home and raised their four children next door to her childhood home. Jeanette devoted her life to her family and home. Her home was open to all and many stopped by to share lively conversations around the kitchen table, throughout the years she took in and cared for several extended family members. Jeanette loved shopping not only for herself but also for others. Gardening and decorating outside her home were her passion. Jeanette will be remembered for her generosity to others. She was a defender and lover of children and all animals, donating to many charities. Many will miss her homemade goods and jams that she distributed to family and anyone who dropped by. She is survived by her son, Kim Corby and wife Sharon, Brad Corby and wife Dot; daughter, Jan Sickler and husband Ben; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one great-great granddaughter expected in June. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son, Floyd Brian Corby in 2016; brother, Alfred Dymond. The family would like to extend deep appreciation to all of her friends and family that assisted in her care, especially her caretaker and friend, Ethel Bolton. Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family with internment in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Arrangements and care entrusted to Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 West Tioga Street Tunkhannock, PA 18657. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jeanette’s name to Wyoming County Humane Society, PO Box 478 Tunkhannock, PA 18657 or Kunkle Fire Department, 3943 State Route 309 Dallas, PA 18612.
