Sandra L. Vieczorek

d. August 25, 2021

Sandra lrwin-Vieczorek,73, a Tunkhannock local and active role-model passed away on August 25t, 2021 after a hard-fought battle with Cancer. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Vieczorek. After earning her GED and a two-year degree in Liberal Arts with a 4.0 average, Sandra turned her power mind towards bettering her community. Sandra was an active member of the county, being the founding member of Wyoming County Cares, a board member of Endless Mountains Extended Care, was instrumental in starting Families Helping Families, was one of the founding members of the Dietrich Theater and a was driving force behind the Wyoming/Sullivan County Treatment Court. Against trial and tribulation, Sandra fought every day to ensure her community was a loving one, and the lives of every one of her neighbors was forever changed for the better. To document Sandra's many finer points would take a list as long as The Susquehanna. Always the scholar, Sandra spent countless hours, cup of tea in hand, reading an eclectic collection of knowledge. From history to classical poetry: wherever Sandra was found, a book was not far away. Her many adventures didn't end within the binding of pages, however, as she explored the many villages and castles of the European countryside, accompanied eternally by her loyal companion and husband, Ronald Vieczorek. While travelling and reading were her great passions, they were infantile compared to the abundance of love she displayed to her family. Even with such a fullness in her life, Sandra always made time to cherish the ones around her, and to make clear how welcoming and warm her heart was. Through the peaks and valleys of her life, Sandra Vieczorek met any adversity with unparalleled wisdom and tactful grace, and instilled that strength in everyone she met. Born in Clearfield, PA on August 14, 1948 she is survived by her father Gerald Irwin and preceded in death by her mother Jean Spencer Irwin and her youngest son, Randall Justin Vieczorek. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Janice Sick and Susan Kern; son, Ronald Vieczorek; five grandchildren: Jake Sick, Claudia Sick, Ryan Kern, Samantha Vieczorek, Elena Vieczorek, and Joseph Vieczorek Family and friends are invited to attend Sandy’s Celebration of Life Service which will be held on Saturday August 28, 2021 at 3:00 PM from the Dietrich Theater, 60 E.
