Robert (Cobby) G. Colbenson, 74, of Tunkhannock, PA, passed away on May 15, 2021. Bob was born in Kingston, PA to Robert G. Sr. and Doris Harvey Colbenson on November 15, 1946. He went to high school at Tunkhannock Area School District and graduated in 1964. He attended East Tennessee State University after high school to continue his football dreams until returning to Tunkhannock to begin a long career with Boilermakers Local Union 13. He worked as a boilermaker, foreman and superintendent on many jobs at power plants across the tri-state area. He loved his years working and the friends he made along the way. He was a hard worker and many men respected him for his work ethic and dedication to his co-workers. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed fishing, Alabama football and his annual trips to the beach with his family and extended family. He was a member of the Nicholson-Tunkhannock Masonic Lodge and The Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1276. Bob is survived by his wife of 51 years, Blanche Bray Colbenson; son William Colbenson (Lauren), Tunkhannock; grandchildren Angela and Will, at home. He is also survived by sisters: Linda Herman (Elwin), Tunkhannock; Barbara Jamison (Colleen Carter), Clarks Summit, PA; sister-in-laws: Esther Jacques (Carl), Mill City, PA; Mildred Zimmerman, Tunkhannock, PA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-laws: Donald Bray (Audrey), Scranton, PA; Arthur Bray, Dunmore, PA and his beloved Chow Chow, Cody Bear who was his devoted best friend for 15 years, North Eaton, PA. Services will be private Arrangements by Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc. 73 West Tioga Street Tunkhannock, PA. Memorial donations may be made to Tunkhannock Ambulance, 195 Bridge Street, Tunkhannock PA 18657 or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to The Gardens in Tunkhannock for their dedicated care and unwavering love for Bob. He received wonderful care during his stay there.
