Thelma A. Mathews

Thelma “Chick” Mathews, 73, of Tunkhannock died Thursday October 4, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband John W. Mathews and would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this month.

Born March 19, 1945 in Bristol, PA she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Thelma Moyer Audsley. A graduate of Bensalem High School Chick was proud to serve her country in the United States Navy.

She was a member of the Mehoopany Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband Chick is survived by two sons, John and wife Margaret of Jim Thorpe, PA., and Greg of Telford, PA.; two daughters, Jamie Murray and husband Michael of Galeton, PA, and Jean Frederick and husband Matt of Quakertown, PA.; five grandchildren, Michael III, Jackie, and Kelly Murray, Matthew and Allie Frederick; sister-in-law, Betty McAllister.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Audsley.

Friends and family are invited to attend Chick’s funeral service with full military honours which will be held Monday October 8th at 1PM from the Mehoopany Baptist Church, 4301 PA-87, Mehoopany, PA 18629. By the Rev. Lee Kliewer. Friends and family may call from 11:30AM until the time of service on Monday. Interment with military honours will take place on Tuesday October 9th at 1PM from the Limerick Garden of Memories, Inc., 44 Swamp Pike Limerick, PA 19468.
