Paula J. Knapp

Paula Knapp (Jensen) died peacefully at home on August 17th in Tunkhannock, PA at the age of 70. Paula is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas G. Knapp, Sr; son, Thomas G. Knapp, Jr (Tommy) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, who is married to Michele Verdi-Knapp and their two children Zane and Bryce; daughter, Theresa Knapp (Terri) of Reston, VA who is married to James Pegg; and sister, Joan Allaben of Gaylord, MI. Paula will also be remembered lovingly by her numerous nieces and nephews and she will be greatly missed by the fury members of the family as well, which currently consists of 4 cats she loved.

Paula was born on April 10, 1947 in Syracuse, NY to Harry F. Jensen and Pauline Alberta (Rhule) Jensen. She graduated from Jamesville-Dewitt High school in 1965. She married Tom Knapp, her high school sweetheart in 1967. They raised their two children in Kirkville, NY.   Her children remember her as a loving mother who took an active part in their lives through activities like coaching Terri’s cheerleading team for 6 years and rarely missing one of Tommy’s football/basketball/baseball games. She was always supportive of them in their childhood and continued to be so as they grew in to adulthood.

Paula was a kind-hearted individual who was an avid reader that often volunteered at the Tunkhannock Public Library. She also loved the water and some of her happiest moments were when she was swimming or kayaking.   

Visiting hours are scheduled for October 6th at 1:00pm with a memorial service at

2:00 pm from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA.  There will be a reception after the service at the Moose Lodge. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Paula’s life.
