Jane Lois King

Jane Lois King, 78 of Tunkhannock died Saturday October 17. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Robert King of 34 years. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey daughter of the late Henry and Jeanetta Van Bevran Schoonfield. She retired from the Tunkhannock Area School district as a teacher’s aid. She was an active member of the Tunkhannock Baptist Church an AWANA Leader, and loved art and painting. She was preceded in death by a brother Hiram Schoonfield. She is survived by her sons Robert and wife Donna, of Shavertown, Richard and wife Laura, of Newtown, CT, and Roy and Lori, of Tunkhannock, and daughter Ruth and husband Jack Remington, of Tunkhannock., brothers, Marvin Schoonfield, of Brick, New Jersey and sisters Betty Davis, of Meshoppen and Dorothy Krauter, of Knoxville, Tennessee, nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00AM from Mehoopany Baptist Church. Interment will be held in Sunnyside Cemetery Tunkhannock.
