Helen Mae Trimble Evans of Tunkhannock formerly of Trenton NJ, died Monday evening in Mercy - Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. Helen was born in Kingston PA on August 21, 1924 daughter of the late George and Helen Gay Trimble. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years Dory D. Evans who passed away in 1984. She and her family resided in Trenton, NJ prior to moving to Tunkhannock. She was currently a guest at the Golden Living Center in Tunkhannock. Helen was a strong and courageous woman who overcame many challenges in her life and over the course of her extended illness. She worked for many years as a Nurse’s Aid, then at the age of 60 graduated with a Licensed Practical certification from SCAVTS. She was employed as an LPN at Carpenter Care Center in Tunkhannock prior her retirement. She was a kind and generous woman who always thought of others before her self. Helen enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles in her spare time, but more them anything, she loved entertaining and visiting with her family. In addition to her husband Dory D. Evans she was preceded in death by sons George A. Evans, William W. Evans, brothers George and Frank Trimble and a sister Betty Schwartz. Helen is survived by her son, Dory J. Evans (Tunkhannock) and daughter, Sandra L. Evans (Levittown); daughters-in-law, Kim Dymond-Evans and Melissa Baker-Evans (Tunkhannock) and Diane Shatin (Levittown); three grandchildren and a great-grandson, Sheri Evans-Dailey, William P. Evans, Raven Evans, and Damian Dailey. She also has three sisters and a sister-in-law, Lois Warburton, Marsha Lasher, Mary Lou Klein, and Marilyn Trimble, all of Bucks County, PA. Private arrangements and a celebration of her life have been planned by the family Arrangements by the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock.
