Eleanor R. Visneski

Eleanor R. (Ellie) Visneski of Lancaster formerly of Maple Lane Tunkhannock passed away Thursday evening at Oak Leaf Manor North in Lancaster. She was born in Wilkes-Barre on December 22, 1932 daughter of Margaret Matthews Ross Roberts of Tunkhannock and the late Joseph Ross. Ellie was a 1951 graduate of Tunkhannock High School and a member of the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock. She was extremely active in the Tunkhannock area serving as past president of the Tunkhannock Booster Club, Little League Mothers, Football Mothers Association and Home Room Mothers Association. She served as Chairman of the annual ball for Tyler Memorial Hospital. Ellie was a former Cub Scout Den Mother and area chairman for the Wyoming County Fund. She was a devoted wife to her late husband Paul P. Visneski who died in July 21, 2000. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who enjoyed her family and community, Ellie was also preceded in death by a brother Jack Ross. Surviving are sons and their spouses, Dr. Paul E. and Jet Lea of Lancaster, Gary W. and Conaley of Danville, Todd A. and Kathy of Clark Summit, Mark D. and Conni of Highland Lake, NY, brother an sister in law, Gerald Ross and Billie, of Tunkhannock, sister Loretta Ayers of Falling Water, W.Va., grandchildren Paige Visneski, of Danville, Ashley Candler and husband Zachary of Denver, Co., Ryan, Laurel and Jessica Visneski all of Lancaster, Marissa and Angelica Visneski of Clark Summit, Sgt. Kelly Rose Brodmerkel USMC of Highland Lake, NY, great grandson Kolby Judge. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 am from the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock. Interment will be in Pieta Cemetery Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock on Monday evening from 6 to 8. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Nativity B.V.M or to Mercy Tyler Hospital, Tunkhannock.
