Earline Dooley Williams

d. November 15, 2010

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother quietly slipped away from her earthly existence while holding the hand of her daughter, Peggy. She is finally at peace, free from the confusion of Dementia, free from the body that was no longer keeping up with her. While missing those she loved so much, Mom has rejoined her Heavenly Father, husband and family who predeceased her. She is home just in time for the holidays. Earline was born in Moulton, Alabama, February 15, 1926 to William & Naomi Dooley. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, her sister Billie June Cline and husband George; her brother Claybrooks Dooley and his wife June. Her family moved to Santa Rita, New Mexico during the Depression, where her father found work in the Chino Open Pit Copper Mine. Earline was blessed with a family filled with love, great sense of humor and being resourceful,; attributes she would hold near and dear throughout her life. She married Billy B. Williams on July 23, 1942 and began a life of adventure that led her to every state in the Continental United States. We children were so lucky to be part of this adventure, living in beautiful, remote places from Native American Reservations to many locations near National Parks and Monuments. Our mom taught us to appreciate all cultural traditions and persons as we moved from place to place, and ridge-top to ridge-top until we were old enough to start school. Mom and Dad picked places which were closer to populated areas even if it meant Dad would not be able to be home every day. Through this, Mom persevered, raised us kids, took care of all our needs, and handled numerous unpredictable situations. She managed to keep us amused with her sense of humor. Mom continued to fill our home with love, laughter, and support, even after we had settled into a more conventional way of living, away from the drill camps and the ridge top views. The laughter never left. Dad was transferred to Pa. in 1967 and settled in Dalton, Pa., where they resided until Dad’s passing in 2006. Mom volunteered for many years in many places. She was P.T.A. President in Grand Junction, Co. and served on the Board of the Dalton Public Library.
