Harold Belcher, 72, of Tunkhannock, PA, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, January 12th at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born January 24, 1937, in Vernon, NJ, Mr. Belcher was a son of the late Robert and Ruth Elizabeth (DeWitt) Belcher. Harold was a Veteran of the Unites States Army. He was previously employed at Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail), where he was a Curve Liner for many years. Harold was a Lumber Jack as a young adult. Ever the outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter, trapper, and he enjoyed landscaping and gardening. More recently, he held great interest in collecting antiques. Harold was a proud dog owner, as they brought him great joy throughout his life. He was a man of Christian faith. Harold was preceded in death by his brothers Robert Belcher, Jr of FL and Melvin Belcher of TX. Harold is survived by his sons, Brian of Palmdale, CA, Joe and his wife Carri, of Luzerne, PA and his daughter Alice of Harvey’s Lake, PA, brothers: George Belcher and wife Janice of Lake Arial, PA, Jerry and wife Shelly Belcher of FL, Gene and wife, Linda Belcher of FL, sisters: Dorothy and husband Kenneth Kline of Cape Cod, MA, Doris and husband Wayne Richards of Branchville, NJ, and Ruth and husband, Bill McCarthy of TX., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial Services will be held at 12 pm Saturday, January 23rd from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, Inc., 73 W. Tioga St, Tunkhannock with the Rev. John F. Shaffer, Pastor of the Lemon United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call on Saturday from 11 am until the time of the service.
