Harry C. Hibbert of Eaton Terrace Tunkhannock, died Saturday in Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock. He was born in Chicago, Ill. on January 20, 1915 son of the late Alexander T. and Freda Johnson Hibbert.
After his high school graduation he joined the Reserves and worked as an instructor for the ATF and FBI as a sharp shooter expert. He retired from the US Coast Guard after 22 years of service and then went to work as an engineer for Dielectric in Raymond, Maine. Harry was a member of the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock . He was an avid wood worker and enjoyed playing the guitar, painting portraits and still life. He enjoyed the time that he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Brankey Hibbert, grandson Shawn Brian McKee and a brother Ernest Hibbert. Surviving are daughters Maria Elena McKee of Patchogue, NY, Cindy Hibbert of Nassau, NY and Melissa Tucker of Beverly, MA., 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9 am from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock with Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock at 9:30 am. Interment will be in Pieta Cemetery, Tunkhannock. Friends may call at the funeral home from 8:30 am until the time of service.
