Joseph E. Drost Sr was called to heaven on October 11, 2017 passing away at home on his family farm.  He was born on March 19, 1926 in Larksville, Pa.  son of Frank and Sophie Nemchuk Drost.

Joe graduated May 1944 from Tunkhannock High School and was an Army Veteran of WW2 and attended Penn State College of agriculture. He returned home and became an avid Dairy and Veal farmer In Eaton Twp.. He truly loved working his family’s two farms and working them up until August of 2017. Joe enjoyed gardening, hunting and trapping and was an avid reader. He was a loving and very hard working husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather Joe was preceded in death by a brothers Raymond Drost, Francis Drost ,sisters , Marie Drost Lesher, Josphine Drost Morykon.

           Surviving is his wife of 52 years Elizabeth (Betty) Dobrinski Drost, children Joseph E. Drost Jr., daughter’s Betty Jo Drost, Jodie F. Drost, and Barbie Jo Drost. Brother John Drost, sisters Clara Bondwrich  and Irene Corby, grandchildren Joseph E. Drost III, Kayla Drost, Amber Drost, Olivia Drost, Juniper Saint and Sage Saint, one great grandchild Amelia Marie Danko and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Friday evening October 20, 2017 at the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock from 6 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday morning at 10 am from the Church of the Nativity BVM in Tunkhannock. Family and friends are requested to go directly to the Church.
