John E Newhart

John Ernest Newhart Sr. of Tunkhannock passed away peacefully at his residence on September 22, 2016. He precedes his wife of 35 years Joan Severcool Newhart. Son of the late Frank and Helen Goodwin Newhart, John was born April 24, 1950 in West Auburn. John loved singing and playing his guitar for his family. He spent his time fixing John Deere Tractors, mowing lawn, hunting and of course snuggling with his grandchildren. His family meant the world to him. He was preceded in death by his son John Ernest Newhart Jr of Louisiana. He was survived by sons Robert Newhart of Louisiana , Cody Newhart wife Shannon of Louisiana, Nick Newhart wife Amanda of Lake Winola, and Daughters Mindy Shannon husband Bruce of Tunkhannock and Cyndi Williamson of Louisiana. Grandchildren Britteny, John (JT), Slade, Logan, Alyssa, Travis, Brandi, Hunter, Ophelia, Madelyn, Chase, Daniel, Christopher, Morgan and Becca. Great Grandchildren Justice and Ryland. Siblings Barbara Caprioli, Frank Newhart, Judy Meeks, Denny Newhart, Maxine Bendock, Ike Newhart and Kelly Stephens and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Monday September 26, 2016 at 6pm from The Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc. 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA with Deacon Raymond Pierette presiding. Friends and family may call the funeral home from 4 until the time of service on Monday. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in his memory to your choice of charities.
